At Light In The Space, every leather accessory we sell is handcrafted in-house by our skilled craftspeople in Shenzhen, China. From the initial leather cutting and 3D tooling to the final hand-stitching, each piece is made with care and intention. We take genuine pride in the quality of what we create, and we stand behind it.

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, this policy explains exactly what we offer, what it costs, and how to get started. We believe in full transparency — no surprises, no hidden conditions.

This Return and Refund Policy applies to all orders placed at lightinthespace.com and shipped to the contiguous United States.

1. RETURN WINDOW

You have 30 days from the date your package is delivered to initiate a return. Returns requested after this 30-day window will not be accepted.

To be eligible for a return, your item must meet all of the following conditions:

- Unused, unworn, and in the same condition as when you received it
- In its original packaging with all tags attached
- Accompanied by your order number or proof of purchase

1B. NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS

The following items are not eligible for return under any circumstances:

- Custom or personalized orders (if applicable)

2. RETURN SHIPPING COSTS AND FEES

We believe in transparent pricing. The cost of your return depends on the reason for the return.

DEFECTIVE OR DAMAGED PRODUCTS

If your item arrives damaged, defective, or if we sent you the wrong product entirely, we take full responsibility. In this case:

- We will provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you ($0.00)
- Please email support@lightinthespace.com with clear photos or a short video of the damage or defect
- Once we confirm the issue, return instructions and your prepaid label will be sent within 1 business day

You will not be charged anything for return shipping in this situation.

CUSTOMER REMORSE (CHANGE OF MIND)

If you ordered the wrong color, changed your mind, or no longer want the item, we still accept your return — but return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Because our warehouse is located in Shenzhen, China, international return shipping applies. Based on typical USPS First Class International rates from the United States, the estimated return shipping cost is:

We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service. Light In The Space is not responsible for items lost or damaged during return transit when a prepaid label was not provided.

3. HOW TO INITIATE A RETURN

To start a return, follow these steps:

- The item you wish to return
- The reason for your return
- Photos or video (required for defective or damaged items only)

Step 2 — Receive Authorization
Our team will review your request and respond within 1–2 business days (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST). Once approved, we will send you full return instructions.

Step 3 — Pack and Ship the Item
Pack your item securely in its original packaging. Ship it to our return center at the address below. We recommend using a trackable shipping service to protect your return.

4. EXCHANGES

We are happy to offer exchanges for different styles or colors of our handcrafted leather products within 30 days of delivery.

How the exchange process works:

Step 1 — Ship your original item back to our warehouse in Shenzhen, China. Return shipping is at the customer's expense (estimated $15–$30 via USPS from the US). Please contact us first for authorization before shipping.

Step 2 — Once we receive and inspect your item (within 2 business days of arrival), we will process your exchange and prepare your replacement.

Step 3 — We ship your replacement item at no additional shipping charge. Standard delivery takes 7–15 business days to reach you in the contiguous United States.

Estimated total exchange time: 4–7 weeks, depending on how quickly the original item reaches our facility.

5. REFUND PROCESSING

Once we receive your returned item, the following process applies:

Inspection: Our quality team inspects every returned item to verify it meets our return conditions (unused, unworn, original packaging, within 30-day window).

Approval: We will notify you by email whether your return has been approved or rejected, typically within 2 business days of receiving the item.

Rejected Returns: If a return is rejected because it does not meet our conditions, the item will be shipped back to you at your expense. If the return shipping cost is not covered within 14 days of notification, the item will be discarded.

Payout: Approved refunds are applied to your original payment method within 5 business days. Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take additional time for the credit to appear on your statement.

Light In The Space was founded on September 15, 2025, with a single purpose: to bring genuinely handcrafted leather accessories to customers across the United States.

Every piece in our collection — from our 3D Alligator Coin Purses and Owl Crossbody Bags to our Butterfly Wristlets and Hummingbird Coin Purses — is made in-house by our own craftspeople in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. Only our metal hardware components, such as clasps and locks are precision-sourced externally. Every other part of the process — cutting, shaping, tooling, stitching, and finishing — is done by hand in our own facility.

We ship exclusively to the contiguous United States and offer free standard shipping on every order. The estimated delivery time is 8–18 business days from our Shenzhen facility.
